Keller am See
Biodynamic viticulture on Lake BielThe Keller am See winery, run by Christian Dexl, is idyllically situated on Lake Biel and cultivates around 2.2 hectares of vines. Dexl pursues a biodynamic approach, focussing on greening the vineyards and strengthening his vines with plant-based preparations such as horsetail and nettle. In his cellar, he pursues a minimalist vinification process in order to create authentic wines full of character that bear the signature of their origin.
ENGAGEMENT.
Regional anchoring: The vines grow directly on the shores of Lake Biel - on typical, chalky soils characterised by the region's microclimate.
The focus is on Chasselas, Pinot Noir and other grapes that continue the regional wine tradition.
Biodynamic viticulture: The use of natural herbal preparations strengthens the vines and maintains soil fertility.
Preservation of old grape varieties: Dexl favours traditional and resistant grape varieties in order to promote diversity and sustainability in viticulture.
Minimalist vinification: Without synthetic additives, authentic wines are created that reflect the character of the region.
Co-operations and innovations: The winery relies on creative co-labs with other wine producers to create exciting, limited editions.
